You'll find 1300 sq ft. 1 BD home on a quiet street in charming Trinidad. Within a few blocks are Trinidad Harbor, 3 beaches, tidepools, restaurants, the museum, murphys groceries, craft market, marine lab, and nature walks.  Wether you're a romantic couple or a solo adventurer, we pamper you! 

Starfish is my personal home laidback and comfortable.  It combines contemporary style with all of my beautiful family antiques.The living room is spacious enough to practice yoga, relax and watch a movie on one of the couches, or sit at the table to enjoy high speed internet. Wether or not you play the piano you'll have to try out the 1887 steinway piano to hear its resonant tones. You'll enjoy my most treasured possesion: a series of botanical paintings done by my great great grandmother over 150 years ago. While your relaxing in the home, please enjoy games and my collection of books which include many on local nature.

Beacuse I love baths, I designed the bathroom accordingly. There's a separate bathtub and shower with a dimmable warm sconce, for a soft lighted soaking.

In the large kitchen with expansive granite coutertops and skylights, you'll find whatever you need to make a tasty meal. Visit our local grocer for local fish and fresh vegetables.The kitchen includes pots and pans, dishes, large refridgerator, utensils, gas stove oven, cooking staples, microwave, coffee maker. We provide paper towels, kitchen towels, and new sponge.  You are welcome to use the laundry room with detergent provided, please no harsh chemicals or scents.

In the bedroom couples can cuddle up on the full size mattres bed on the handmade double size bedroom furniture crafted over 100 years ago with gorgeous Koa wood frame. The bedroom looks into the back yard where you'll notice a mature maple tree.

The private backyard has a table and chairs where you can enjoy eating outside.

Although this is my home, when your there, you'll feel like it is your alone. There's a secured separate locked room, so the main house will be all yours.

To me, Starfish is my lovley cherished home, not a business or tax write off.  My manager, Lynda Moran, lives in town with her husband and children, She manages a small set of very best curated vacation homes, and treats each of her visitors like her personal guests. With Starfish house, you don't need to settle for, a cramped cabin or corporate owner or manager. Or a location thats anywhere other than the middle of Trinidad itsself!

Trinidad is a half hour away from Redwood National Park, the lagoons and many other enticing nature spots. Arcata home to CalPoly Humboldt is a short 20 minute drive.

Upon booking your stay at the Starfish house, you will have access to the whole house, minus the personal storage area right off of the kitchen area. In addition, our onsite emergency contact stays in a separate cottage in the back yard. He is close by in case of emergency if Lynda is not available. The laundry room is available for your use. You may use the detergent that is there (if you use your own, please use only "natural" products because of the septic system.) Feel free to utilize the front and back yards during your stay!
In addition, feel free to ask for recommendations of local hikes, restaurants, and beaches.
Other things to note

Health and Disablity: Many of our guests stay with us as they require a more pristine environment. Our cleaning materials are natural and we use francrance free detergent and allergy safe materials on our bedding. The Trinidad air has some of the cleanest air in the country according to NOAA. Because of many health and allergy situation we absolutly do not allow pets of any kind. We are sorry we can not accept our guests beloved companions, we a hope to provide an allery safe environment. We do not allow any smoking on the premesis or insense burning for the same allergy reason we dont allow pets.
The house is one level, no stairs to enter, only a smal threshhold. Parking is on gravel infront of the house.
The house is not completly baby or child proofed because of the antiques not appropraite for young children.

If you have an electric vehicle, theres a charging station about 2 blocks away.  PLease do not charge your electric vehicle at Starfish house.  We do monitor usage and any unusual usage will be detected.

The city requires us to obtain a signed guest good neighbor agreement going over local ordinances including quiet hours, septic requirements, and so on. You do sign this upon booking the home, but are required to provide a physical signature.
